UEA Norwich and UEA London courses

All postgraduate, overseas applicants are required to pay a minimum £2,000 International Student Deposit to UEA by 31 July 2013. Postgraduate Research students should arrange to pay their deposit 3 months prior to their course commencement date. There is no deposit required for undergraduate applicants.

After payment of thedeposit applicants can expect:

  1.  a confirmed place on their chosen course*
  2. a confirmed room in residential accommodation**
  3. to be issued their CAS (Certificate of Acceptance of Studies) needed to obtain their student visa***

* Course confirmation is subject to the fulfilment of any conditions of the offer. UEA may give the place to another applicant if the deposit is not paid by the deadline.

** Accommodation confirmation is subject to the correct submission of an Accommodation Application Form by the 31 July 2013, and the terms and conditions of the Accommodation Guarantee.

*** A CAS will be issued by our Admissions department once an applicant’s deposit has been received and all the conditions of their offer have been met. The deposit amount received will be listed in the CAS and on the UKBA system, reducing the amount of funds needed in the visa application process. Admissions can only issue a CAS 3 months prior to an applicant’s start date, as applicants are not able to apply for their visa more than 3 months before the start of their course. Please note that an applicant’s CAS is only valid for 6 months and will expire if not used at the end of this period.

INTO-UEA Pre-sessional English courses

If applicants have chosen to study at INTO-UEA on an 8, 6 or 4 week Pre-Sessional English course, then we can offer them a joint CAS. This enables applicants to apply for one visa which covers both the Pre-Sessional Course and their main UEA degree course. This will help to save time and money.  Applicants holding an offer of a place on a 8, 6 or 4 week INTO Pre-sessional course, who are applying for a joint CAS, are required to pay a £2,000 deposit to INTO-UEA only.  For further details, please visit our Applying for Your Student Visa  web pages.

Payment of the deposit can be made in several ways:

Uni-Pay

Uni-Pay is our preferred option for receiving payments from overseas applicants. Uni-Pay provides a quick and simple method for international payments by local bank transfer. Uni-Pay Portal

Credit Card payment

Credit card details can be accepted by the UEA Cashiers Office over the telephone, during UK business hours on +44 1603 592687.

Direct Bank Transfer

If applicants choose to pay by direct Bank Transfer, please send a completed Payment Notice Form to the address or fax number on the form. Please note there can be severe delays in receiving payment by direct bank transfer from abroad and applicants are responsible for any bank fees.

*Applicants applying to UEA-London should also use one of the payment methods detailed above.

Pre-payment towards tuition fees and accommodation

Applicants may pay more than the required deposit. Any pre-payments will be listed on the applicant’s CAS and deducted from the amount they will need to show in-country to gain their visa. The maximum amount that can be shown on an applicant’s CAS is the full tuition fees and a maximum of £1000 towards accommodation fees. Therefore we require that applicants do not pay more than this amount in advance.
